2017 A Level H2 Chemistry Paper 1 Qn2 Question

Topic tested is on Mole Concept, in particular how to compare nucleon number, neutron number and proton number.

Nucleon number or mass number is the total number of protons and neutrons in the nucleus.

Proton number or atomic number is the number of protons while neutron number is the number of neutrons in the nucleus.

The nucleon number and proton number are stated in the Periodic Table of Elements, while the neutron number is determined by simply subtracting proton number from nucleon number.

So we can list down the elements from lithium to magnesium and work out their respective neutron number and proton numbers.
